How to take your body measurements correctly
In order to tailor a shirt for you, we need to receive your correct measurements.
Below we will guide you step by step on how to take them precisely. To do this you will need the help of another person, a measuring tape, a piece of paper and a pen or pencil.
Each measurement you indicate will have a tolerance of a few centimeters, calculated at the time of production by our technicians.
SHIRT LENGTH

This measurement is useful in determining the length of the shirt. Take the measurement, with the tape measure parallel to the back, from the base of the neck to below the buttocks.
SHOULDER WIDTH

Measure your shoulders at the widest point, from one humerus of one shoulder to the other.
SLEEVES LENGTH

Measure the sleeve from the shoulder to the wrist, taking care to keep the arm bent at 90 degrees.
CIRCUMFERENCE OF THE NECK

To measure your neck, slide the tape measure around it. It is important to insert a finger between the tape measure and the neck to ensure that the collar is not too tight.
CHEST WIDTH

Measure the circumference of the chest at chest height. Do not leave any space between the chest and the tape measure - it is important that this measurement is as accurate as possible. The fit of the shirt will depend on the model you choose (slim fit, regular fit).
WAIST CIRCUMFERENCE

Measure the waist at the widest point of the circumference, at the navel height. Again, it is important that the measurement is as snug as possible. The fit of the garment will depend on the model selected.
HIPS CIRCUMFERENCE

Measure the waist at the height of the hips. For a correct measurement you must make the tape adhere to the body.
BICEPS CIRCUMFERENCE

Measure the circumference of the biceps in traction (like an arm wrestling). For a correct fit, the tape measure must be attached to the bicep.
FOREARM CIRCUMFERENCE

Measure the circumference of the forearm. For a correct fit, the tape measure must adhere to the forearm.
WRIST CIRCUMFERENCE

Take the measurement of the wrists at the height of the joint. Be precise: the tape measure must be as close to the body as possible. GConte will add 5cm for the final cuff measurement.
How to correctly measure a shirt
If you do not have the help of another person to take measurements on your body and you have already purchased a tailored shirt, you can follow the guide below.
SHIRT LENGTH

Measure the back length of the shirt from the center of the base of the collar to the bottom hem.
SHOULDER WIDTH

To measure shoulder width correctly, close your shirt and place it face down on a flat surface. At this point, measure the width of the shoulders from one end to the other
SLEEVES LENGTH

Spread out the shirt and measure the sleeve starting from the shoulder seam to the end of the wrist
CIRCUMFERENCE NECK

Open and spread the collar of the shirt on the table. Measure the length between the button and the center of the buttonhole.
CHEST WIDTH

Button the shirt and measure the length from extreme right to extreme left trying to stay 1 or 2 centimeters under the armpit
WAIST CIRCUMFERENCE

Button the shirt and measure the length from the left to the right side, at the waist level (between the fourth and fifth buttons).
HIPS CIRCUMFERENCE

Button the shirt and measure the length from the left side to the right side of the bottom of the shirt, just below the last button.
BICEPS CIRCUMFERENCE

Measure the circumference of the bicep starting from about four or five centimeters below the seam of the armpit, sliding the tape perpendicular to the sleeve
FOREARM CIRCUMFERENCE
Measure the circumference of the forearm by sliding the tape measure perpendicular to the sleeve
WRIST CIRCUMFERENCE
Stretch the cuff of the shirt and measure the space between the button and the center of the buttonhole (see image).
